VIEW FROM THE PEW: 12th October 2025.
Rev Burton yesterday took us further into our new teaching series on the seven letters sent by Jesus, via John, to the seven churches of Revelation.
We were reminded that even during times of struggle and fear we must remain calm because Jesus is always with us even beyond the point of death.
Jesus is the authority and the awareness of time. The letters emphasise His intimate knowledge of the churches and His authority over them as He is the one who "walks among the golden lampstands".

Join us this Sunday 11am as we continue in our new teaching series on Jesus' letters to the church - does He have a message of hope in the hurting? We have Youth Church for those up to P7, as well as cuppa afterwards and prayer times before.
Tonight we have our annual business meeting at 7pm in the sanctuary at our Brightons Ministry Centre followed by our Thursday prayer meeting at 8pm in the small hall. All are welcome to join us. Looking forward to seeing you there

The tree of life represents the fullness of eternal life that God wishes to lavish on humanity. It's one of the most powerful images in God's Word, extending from the first chapters of Genesis to the final ones of Revelation.
Yesterday we had our Harvest Thanksgiving services in both ministry centres. The message was about being 'lights' in our community. The congregations and organisations at Upper Braes donated a huge amount of food and provisions for Martha's Pantry. A very practical example of letting our light shine, sharing God's bounty and love!
Also, thanks to pupils at Wallacestone Primary School for their donations!
